TradeUp Terms & Safety
TradeUp is a collector-first marketplace built to help users connect and trade fairly. During beta, all users are expected to act honestly, communicate respectfully, and make careful trading decisions.
1. Platform role
TradeUp provides a platform for collectors to discover listings, communicate, and arrange trades. TradeUp does not take possession of items, process trades as an escrow service, or guarantee the outcome of any transaction between users.
2. User responsibility
Users are responsible for verifying the authenticity, ownership, condition, and approximate value of items before agreeing to a trade. Users are also responsible for arranging shipping, packaging, delivery, in-person exchanges, and any associated risks or costs.
3. Respectful conduct and safety
Harassment, threats, abusive behavior, fraud, impersonation, coercion, or attempts to exploit other users are not allowed. TradeUp may restrict, suspend, or remove accounts that create an unsafe environment for the community.
4. Minors and protected users
Users must behave appropriately with all members of the platform. Any predatory, manipulative, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate conduct toward minors or vulnerable users is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate removal from TradeUp.
5. Listings and prohibited behavior
Users may not post misleading listings, fake items, stolen goods, or content intended to scam or deceive others. TradeUp reserves the right to remove listings or accounts that appear dishonest, unsafe, unlawful, or harmful to the beta community.
6. Beta status
TradeUp is currently in beta. Features, availability, workflows, and policies may change as the platform evolves. By using TradeUp, you acknowledge that some areas of the product may still be actively improved.
7. Acceptance of risk
Trading collectibles carries inherent risks. By using TradeUp, you acknowledge those risks and accept responsibility for your decisions, communications, and trade arrangements.
